Below I have outlined 20 inexpensive and free self-care ideas, and divided them based on how much time they take. Incorporating small acts of self-care into our daily routines can help us be more present for those who need us.


5 Minutes

If you have 5 minutes to spare, you can:

Drink a glass of water

Journal about 5 things you’re grateful for

Follow a 5-minute meditation

Do a face mask

Listen to your favorite song

Have a dance break


30 Minutes

If you have 30 minutes to spare, you can:

Read a chapter of a book Paint your nails

Take a shower
